January held a lot of intentional moments...but pl January held a lot of intentional moments...but plenty of relaxed ones, too.

I share our crafts here often, so it only felt fair to balance it out with a glimpse of real life - cartoons on, toys everywhere, and a living room thats a little over-stuffee. (Maybe next month I'll share the clean version!)

We filled our days with puzzles, books, crafting, and cooking together. Some of those kitchen moments were straight out of a Hallmark movie, but some of them involved reminding a certain someone not to lick raw egg.

January was a beautiful, ordinary month.
After years of seeing kids on school picture day a After years of seeing kids on school picture day and photographing them with their families, one thing keeps showing up again and again.

Some kids absolutely light up when they’re dressed up and “all fancy.”
Others feel most like themselves in something simple.

There isn’t a right way. There’s just their way.

And when kids are allowed to show up as themselves, everything changes — how they feel, how the session flows, and what we’re able to capture.

That’s what I care most about noticing.

Hooray!!

You finished the scavenger hunt and submitted your results to me!!

You’re getting close! 👏

Somewhere on my site, a cat is hiding in plain sight. Can you find the photo?

Tip: if you’re on a cell phone or tablet, tap and hold once you find the cat to reveal the next clue.

Oops!

Yeah, yeah. I know this technically answers the question to clue #3 but you’re going to have to find it somewhere else to get clue #4.

📸 You’re halfway there—woohoo!

Where do I photograph families?

WOOO! One clue down!

Congrats on finding the first clue!

Here’s clue #2: Golden hour is a photographer’s dream. In Lexington, how long does it last?
